2ND Asia Bunker Forum 2009 held by CBI CHINA, sponsored by BRIGHTOIL PETROLEUM (HOLDINGS) LIMITED, Emerson Process Management Co., Ltd, CNPC & TAFO GROUP, DNVPS and SEARIGHTS was successfully closed on June 24th in Futian Shangari-la Shenzhen, China. The forum lasted for one and a half day, gathered over 100 delegates from over 10 places and countries like China Hongkong, China Mainland, China Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Iran, UAE, UK, USA and so on.

Although the financial tsunami is still haunting the world, China’s bunker market has been widely recognized as with large potential. So this year’s forum we invited the China bonded bunker fuel giants CHIMBUSCO, BRIGHTOIL, CNPC & TAFO, CHINA SHIPPING & SINOPEC SUPPLIERS and SINOPEC Zhejiang Zhoushan, which attracted many traders from the neighboring countries. And the influence has been passed to the Middle East area which pushed some local traders flying here to find more business opportunities.


And move on to the speeches, we invited Mr, Luxing Wang, the Deputy Manager of Sales & Marketing from CHIMBUSCO, and Mr. William Chia, Executive Director from BRIGHTOIL to bring us the topics about China bunker market and its future. And about the Middle East market, Thailand market and Indian market, we invited Marketing Manager Mr. John Mittelstein and Habour Master Capt.Tamer Masoud from Port of Fujairah to talk about Middle East Bunkering Market and Fujairah Developments. We also invited Mr. Pipat Suvanajata, Director from PTT International Trading Pte., Ltd, Mr. Sh. Partha Datta , Chief Marine Manager from M/s Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. to introduce their domestic markets.


Further more, we are hornored to have invited Mr. Ian Adams, Chief Executive from The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) , to give us a speech about Latest Developments at IMO.


We also invited the famous third party like DNV Petroleum Services and Emerson Process Management Co., Ltd, to deliver the speeches about the fuel management and Coriolis Mass Flow Technology for Bunkering.

And as the information backup, Mr, Navy Liu, Editor Manager from C1 ENERGY, Mr. Yeo Yu Kin, Managing Consultant from Purvin & Gertz, Mr. Victor Lum, Business Manager/Consultant from SGS and Mr. Liang Hui from GMEX, separately analyzed the current market situation, future outlook,  bunker fuel inspection and Oil Technology Analysis & Arbitrage


Since the shipping industry been involved in the financial crisis, the fluctuation of shipping market is stirring the bunker players’ heart. In order to get closer conversations with the ship owners, this time we invited Ms. Mei Xue the director from COSCO, Mr. Anguo Lu Bunker Director from China Shipping and Assistant Bunkers Manager Mr. Peter Cheung from Pacific Basin Shipping (HK) Ltd to talked about the strategies under crisis and their expectations to the industry.


During the break time, the delegates had warm conversations with each other and some of them exchanges presents and took photos. Some of them told us that they met quite lot friends here and looked forward to next year’s activity. And some of our guests sent email to us after tripping back, said it was an impressive and worthy trip, which benefits a lot.
