Meager supply; rely on domestic market and open up overseas market
China has the second largest lead-zinc reserves in the world, but with the exploitation and demand increased year by year, mineral resources tend to dry up. At present, domestic mineral lead and zinc resources have been exploited for only seven to eight years. Faced with this shortage situation, experts in this field suggest the development of a circular economy. Then how is the prospect of domestic lead-zinc reuse? Can the shortage of mineral resources be eased by improving the use of mine tailings and the recycled use of lead and zinc? At the same time some companies eye Europe, America, Australia and other countries to build factories there, so will it be a trend to extend the overseas industrial chain?

According to statistics, the current self-sufficiency rate in raw materials of lead and zinc declines sharply, while zinc smelting enterprises are also flanked: on the one hand the current power situation is grim with power limitations in many places, which exerts a direct impact on lead and zinc production; on the other hand with power price increased, the cost goes up, while low-cost zinc ingots begins to be imported into the domestic market.
