2nd Annual China Concentrating Solar Power Summit 2012
Solar thermal power was given a priority among renewables listed in the Catalogue of Industry Structure Adjustment (2011 version), which is issued by China National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on June 1st 2011. In addition, in the forthcoming China 12th Five-Year Plan on renewables, targeted installed capacity of solar thermal power in 2015 is 1 million KW while that in 2020 is 3 million KW. According to the plan, in the next 5 years, regions with good light condition, wide land areas and adequate water resources will serve as pilot areas of solar thermal power projects to promote industry development. Insiders believe that by the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan, China’s installed capacity of solar thermal power is expected to exceed that of photovoltaic generation. Lately, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) has submitted a proposal about supporting solar thermal power to the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), suggesting reasonable solar-thermal electricity price policy to accelerate the industry growth, which has gained extensive discussions. ... ...More>>
