China Petrochemical Summit 2010
The demand for petrochemical products is driven by GDP growth. China is successfully maintaining its 8% growth in 2009, despite the devastating impact of the global financial meltdown. The downstream demand of China's petrochemical industry is determining the future of the stagnant Asian market or even that of the world. Research has revealed that by 2015, 60% of world's petrochemical growth will be in Asia, where China will take up at least 50% of the market share. As the biggest petrochemical market in Asia and an important driver for world's petrochemical industry, China is an attractive destination to which many multinational petrochemical businesses are relocating their productions. This trend is proven by the projects in 2009. More>>
Greetings from Organizer
No one will dispute that Asian economic growth is powering steadily ahead, led by China, and petrochemicals players are benefitting. But many producers have told me that they are not expecting a great deal from 2010. Markets are still clouded with uncertainties despite signs of the global recovery. Will demand grow as fast as production capacity? Will output return to normal in the year? Will crude value stay within an optimum level? Will government stimulus continue? Will margins remain as good as they were in 2009? This is only part of the reasons that I am inviting you to attend the 3rd Annual China Petrochemical Summit.
We had experienced a couple of the best quarters in the latter half of 2009 and some companies were able to recover at least part of their losses earlier on. I trust that attendees will go home better equipped to make the right decisions in the next years to come. I reckon the summit will provide a direction for the industrial participants in their search for more profitable businesses.
