The predicament in China – China imported 457.6 million tonnes of iron ore in the first nine months of 2010, 11.53 million tonnes or 2.51% less year on year. Meanwhile, the import of China amounted to USD 55.689 billion, USD 19.162 billion or CNY 130.3 billion higher over the same period of 2009.
The fundamental change of pricing model – the annual pricing mechanism was terminated by world’s three leading iron ore suppliers. Replacing it was the quarterly pricing model. As the duration of agreed price was shortened to three months, the market fluctuated more intensively. ……More>>
